Position Overview
We require a full-time Gift Shop & Barista Attendant for our remote property in Baker Creek who will enthusiastically greet and serve customers and cater their needs during their stay. This person will also assist Guest Services Agents if needed at the front desk. A strong, motivated team is already in place, and we are looking for the same drive and commitment. Baker Creek Mountain Resort is a newly acquired property in the Basecamp Properties portfolio. The location is remote on the 1A Village and Lake Louise and adjacent to river. Baker Creek is 10 minutes away from Lake Louise and 30 minutes away from Banff. Baker Creek is a rustic resort with 19 stand alone chalets and a main building.
Salary: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
Full-time/Permanent
Shifts: 8-hour
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
- Packaging food and beverages for sale.
- Cleaning and restocking work station, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
- Present merchandise with enthusiasm, and assist in the selection by making recommendations to the customer.
- Answer all questions regarding the merchandise and outline features and benefits with accuracy.
- Inform the customer of special in-store specials and promotions and their advantages.
- Process sales as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Always thank customer for visiting the store and encourage them to return.
- Make breakfast baskets.
- Assist Guest Service Agents at the Front Desk when needed.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English; both verbally and written.
- Ability to accurately input information using Hotel Property Management Software.
- Must be flexible to work various shifts throughout the week.
- Must have the mobility to climb stairs throughout the day and be able to lift 40lb.
Requirements
- 1 year customer service previous experience is preferred, however, for the right candidate training is provided.
- Fluent in English, bilingual is an asset.
- Computer and Microsoft skills are a must.
