JOB VACANCY:
BAR STAFF (FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICES) 2 x positions available now as an opportunity for both short-term and long-term candidates.
SALARY:
Starting Salary (£TBA) per annum, depending on experience. Salary paid weekly. Other benefits available depending on performance in job role subject to mutual agreement.
DURATION:
Full-Time appointment.
We would also consider candidates who may also have a desire to secure a Seasonal Term arrangement.
HOURS:
45 hours per week, with additional paid hours available during peak periods. We actively support a positive home/work life balance.
DAYS:
5 days a week with a mix of straight and split shifts depending on daily hotel operations.
HOLIDAYS:
Statutory Holidays (Currently 28 days per annum / pro-rata).
BEDROOMS:
42 Bedroom Hotel.
COVERS:
Breakfasts: 40>55, Brunch/Lunches: 30>50, Dinners: 60>70; Functions/Events: circa 150.
FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICES:
Contemporary/Scottish/Trending style menu with an emphasis on fine, local produce that caters for a wide range of customers, including functions and special occasions. We have three restaurant areas, an extensive whisky/gin bar with two other small bar areas.
BAR & RESTAURANT TEAM:
We currently have a Food & Beverage team with various skill levels.

The Dark Island Hotel is a privately owned, family run hotel with over 40 years of experience. Situated close to the sea and sands, our location offers access to spectacular views, wildlife, hill-walking, and water-sports opportunities all year round. We are looking to expand our Food & Beverage Services team and seek applications from those with talent and the ability to delight customers. Main function will be to support the day-to-day running of our brunch/lunch, barista café service, dinner service and functions or events menus. A minimum of 2 years’ experience formed in a 3/4 Star hotel is required, or similar experience profile formed in a cocktail/wine bar environment. You will have a passion for our industry with good inter-personal skills and will also have great front of house presence with an attention for detail.
You must be able to demonstrate a positive teamworking approach and apply the highest standards of hospitality service and workplace safety. Exercising good judgement with a responsible attitude towards social drinking and customer behaviour is vital. Ideally a Personal License holder but not essential as training is available for less experienced applicants, with a willingness to pursue continuous improvement and personal development. We view successful candidates as vital to shaping our hospitality team.
