Dakota Hotel based in Manchester are seeking an outgoing personality to join our growing bar and grill team for the role of Bar & Grill Receptionist to deliver exceptional service to our guests.
We are centrally located in the Piccadilly Basin, situated on Ducie Street, close to Piccadilly Station ideally located for public transport users. We are home to 137 luxury bedrooms, including 27 suites - the most in the city, a destination cocktail bar with champagne room, and a brasserie style grill with private dining rooms as well as a spectacular terrace.
CONTRACT AND REWARD
The pay rate is paid hourly and on a weekly basis plus cash and card tips. Earnings are £11.75 per hour, equating to a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £22,360.
The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 40 hours per week and typical shifts will be 08:00am till 16.30pm and 14:00pm till 22:00pm, working any 5 days out of 7 including working weekends.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Focus on providing a Dakota welcome and farewell to all guests to the Bar & Grill
- Work with SevenRooms to have a running knowledge of all upcoming reservations
- Liaise with guests ahead of time to understand guest requirements and special requests
- Maintain a comprehensive level of knowledge of our spaces and food and beverage offering to be able to offer guests personal recommendations based on their tastes/ requirements
- Consistently deliver service which shows your outgoing personality, always playing the part of host
- Drive up-sales through service as well as by sincere guest recognition
- Supporting the reservations function, responding to email enquiries, coordinating large party reservations and handling billing
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
The successful applicant will have/be:
- Having previous waiting or hosting experience is essential. Previous experience with emails/ reservations is favoured.
- A personal passion for food and enthusiasm for engaging with people.
- You are expected to look immaculate with pristine uniforming and personal presentation.
· Previous training in responsible alcohol sales and food hygiene is favoured but not required as this training will be provided upon starting. · Be able to be physically active in your role, standing for much of your shift and working at pace.
- An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.
- Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail.
- Flexible with shift patterns and available around the needs of our business.
