We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Bar Staff to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing drinks, stocking the bar, and ensuring that all health and safety regulations are followed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent communication skills.

As our Bar Staff, you will be overseeing our restaurant's front of house and bar area and manage the running of the bar and front of house area. If it is your passion for making drinks and “WOW’ing customers, then this position is for you!
Here at The Woods, we have started from working in Education jobs to becoming young entrepreneurs, opening our first small coffee shop in 2021. We are now opening a main coffee shop/restaurant/bar in the heart of the food area in The Mailbox.
We want a team of individuals who are passionate at what they do, want to come on our journey with us, make improvements/ recommendations as a team and feel part of a team they are proud of.
Bar Staff Job Responsibilities:
a) Preparing and serving high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
b) Using a till to take orders and process payments
c) Checking customers identification and age verification
d) Engaging with customers and advising them about current promotions
e) Maintaining a clean and organised bar area, including quickly responding to spills and other health and safety hazards
f) Monitoring and replenishing stock levels as needed
g) Serving food and snacks
h) Clearing tables, wiping surfaces and operating the dishwasher to ensure ample glassware is available
i) Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
j) Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
k) Plan and present bar menu
l) Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
m) Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
n) Comply with all food and beverage regulations
Work hours and Benefits:
We plan to have a flexible rota, where hours will never be long, they will be reasonable and work for everyone. We plan that the Bar Staff hours will mainly be when we offer our dinner service, which is likely to commence at 4pm. However, if relevant staff have Barista experience then are able to work any shift.
Just like our Solihull premises, we feel that all staff contribute to the satisfaction of customers and staff tips will be managed by the Directors, who will use the staff tips to organise staff nights out and staff events etc. We can all make suggestions for staff events and use the staff tips to pay for them.
Staff will be entitled to the recommended holiday entitlement set out by government and will also pe part of our pension scheme managed by Nest pensions should they wish. There will be plenty of option for overtime also, should staff members wish.
Bar Staff Qualifications / Skills:
a) Customer service skills, including being knowledgeable about products to assist customers best
b) Enjoy working with others and be able to cooperate as part of a team
c) Active listening skills and a good memory for remembering different orders from different customers
d) Calm demeanour to deal with demanding customers
e) Attention to detail
f) Ability to carry out basic order processing and payment tasks on a till or a handheld device
g) The ability to work well in a noisy, high-pressure environment
h) Ability to multitask and remain organised during a busy period
i) Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
j) Ability to maintain an extremely sanitary environment while working
k) Communication skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
a) A background in the hospitality industry is beneficial
b) Previous experience in Bar Staff positions is useful
c) Experience in retail, food service, customer service or catering is helpful
d) High school degree or equivalent not essential but desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
Salary: £10.00-£11.50 per hour
