The Little Haven Hotel in South Shields is currently seeking experienced Floor Staff to join our dynamic team. As a Floor Staff member, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our guests in our hotel restaurant. We are looking for individuals who have prior experience working in a hotel restaurant environment, with specific training in silver service. Flexible working hours are available, and the salary will be based on the national minimum wage.
Responsibilities:
Silver Service: Demonstrate expertise in silver service techniques, including proper table setup, handling of cutlery, serving food and beverages, and clearing tables discreetly and efficiently.
Guest Service: Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Greet and seat guests, offer menus, provide recommendations, take orders accurately, and ensure prompt delivery of food and beverages.
Table Maintenance: Set up tables with precision and attention to detail, ensuring cleanliness and proper arrangement of table settings, linens, and decorations. Monitor tables throughout service, clearing and resetting as necessary to maintain an organized and inviting environment.
Order Accuracy: Ensure orders are relayed accurately to the kitchen and bar, and that special requests or dietary restrictions are appropriately communicated and accommodated.
Communication: Work closely with the kitchen and bar staff to maintain efficient and timely service. Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
Upselling and Recommending: Familiarize yourself with the menu offerings, including daily specials, and confidently upsell additional food and beverage options. Provide recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary requirements.
Cleanliness and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of equipment and adherence to hygiene protocols. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dining area, including regular cleaning and sanitization.
Teamwork: Foster a positive and cooperative working environment. Assist colleagues during busy periods, support team members when necessary, and contribute to a harmonious team dynamic.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a hotel restaurant environment is essential.
- Proven knowledge and training in silver service techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with guests.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £10.42 per hour

Experience:
