To undertake a range of radiography related duties to a consistently high standard, professionally and efficiently following department procedures, to assist radiographers and radiologists in their duties.
To carry out a range of clerical and administrative duties.

Good basic education – literate/numerate
Knowledge and understanding of a range of routine department procedures following a 6 month period of induction and training to be capable of performing the full helper role in each of the areas within radiology.
In house training will be provided.
NVQ level II in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support desirable, but not essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to impart and receive information from patients and carers using tact and/or persuasive skills.
Ability to interact well with Patients, carers and staff at all levels, including staff from other departments.
Communicate with all patients including patients who may have difficulty in understanding or where English is not the first language.
Liaise with medical records film library to ensure necessary clinical information is available for radiologists and radiographers. The post holder should be able to resolve queries.
Work is supervised.
Responsible for the organisation of own routine day to day tasks.
May assist in organisation and training of less experienced radiography assistant staff, by demonstrating own area of work.
To be proficient in the use of department computer system and for the storage and retrieval of PACS images following a short period of induction and training.
Ability to print films if required.
Ability to organise and set trolleys for procedures such as Biopsies, training will be given in the department.
Standard Keyboard skills required for data input.
