Main duties of the job
Patient Services Porter - Band 2
Our department is looking for new team members to join the Support Services Porters Team.
- Respond promptly to requests to escort or convey patients between departments and to assist in the lifting and movement of patients.
- To respect patient confidentiality and to treat all clients in a courteous, helpful manner.
- To deal sympathetically with all patient requests and queries and respond in a professional and polite manner.
- To collect and deliver specimens in accordance with a planned schedule, or as directed.
- To operate lifts as required and respond to requests for lift transportation.
- To respond promptly to emergency cardiac arrest and fire alarm calls.
- Medical, industrial and special gasses.
- To convey or remove and dispose of furniture and equipment.
- To carry out helpdesk duties as and when required, using the automated job allocation system as part of this duty.

- The Trust uses electronic new starter forms on Trac to collect personal details. Information collected is securely stored and used to set up the employee record on the ESR HR system.
