About The Role
Practice Plus Group are looking for an Operations Assistant on a Bank basis to assist the coordinator and work alongside 111 to ensure a seamless delivery of out of hour’s patient care.
You will also liaise with patients and monitor the dispatch queue and book Primary Care Centre (PCC) appointments where appropriate.

Accurately record information and refer to the appropriate health professional in a timely manner and assist in the monitoring and reporting on service performance and escalating when needed.
This is a great opportunity as some operational Assistants have trained and moved on to be Coordinators.
Hours of Work
This is a Bank contract, meaning you can work shifts flexibly depending on your personal circumstances. As this is an out of hours service, this runs between 18:00pm until 08:00am Monday to Thursday and from 18:00pm on Friday through to 08:00am on Monday.
Hourly rate for this role is between £10.47 to £ 15.65 based on the shift covered.
Responsibilities
- Handle in/outbound calls promptly and efficiently, dealing with patients in an empathetic and considerate manner.
- Assist the clinical Navigator & co-ordinator at peak times in achieving performance levels.
- Attend quarterly staff meetings and training sessions.
- Keep abreast of changes in services and products.
- General administrative duties including faxing etc.
- Monitor the active case queue to ensure all calls have the correct information and are visible to the correct region.
About You
What we'll need from you:
- Ability to work effectively under pressure accurately and with attention to detail
- Effective telephone manner
- Relevant computer skills and familiarity with word/ email packages.
- Good organisational, administration & communication skills
- Ability to negotiate, influence and persuade as appropriate
Pay Rates
Monday to Friday (08:00 – 23:59) - £10.47 per hour
Monday to Friday (00:00 - 07:59) - £14.61 per hour
Weekends (08:00 - 23:59) - £11.16 per hour
Weekends (00:00 – 07:59) - £15.65 per hour
