Based at the Royal Free Hospital two days per week (Thursday and Friday), the successful candidate will support young adult patients at any stage of their kidney pathway although will specialise in offering help and advice to patients receiving dialysis treatment at the RFH’s four Kidney Care Centres across north London. The YASW will engage and support patients in areas such as attending for clinic appointments and taking medication and will act as an advocate for patients who might require additional social support.
They will work closely with the current YASW and other members of the psychology and wider multidisciplinary teams; will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to travel to the RFH kidney care centres when required. They will be familiar with video communication platforms, such as Zoom and participate in the running of the monthly Young Adult Support Group.
