Are you a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant who specialises in learning disabilities or mental health?
Our client is currently seeking a band 6 Occupational Therapy assistant specialising in learning disabilities and mental health to join our clients' specialist school located in Oxted, Surrey. This position will be available for the successful therapy assistant to start immediately, working full time hours each week for an on-going period.
The occupational therapy assistant will be expected to with a multi-disciplinary team of staff to provide support to students. This will involve working with students in a range of settings, both within and outside the classroom. The assistant will provide support as detailed below to ensure that the department functions efficiently.
Applying OT's must have:
- HCPC registration.
- Full COVID-19 vaccination status.
- Degree/qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Experience within a similar school setting
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Ability to build good relationships with students.
Duties within this role will include:
- Working collaboratively with colleagues from all departments and with representatives from those external agencies with whom they come into contact as part of their duties.
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Being legally and professionally accountable for own work
