The Health Informatics Department at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) has an exciting opportunity to join the department as an Information Analyst to support a number of key areas across the Trust.
The principal purpose of this role is to work proactively with the operational leads across the trust and consider a wide range of operational, strategic and policy issues including service redesign and promoting the effective use of information analysis to allow the Trust to know and understand its own performance.
This post holder will encourage further engagement with operational staff across the Trust at all levels to introduce new ways of analysing and presenting data particularly focusing on Power BI reporting.
The post holder will be expected to have experience of managing large complex datasets including but not specific to patient activity, prescribing data, maternity and sexual health data. They will be responsible for extracting data and managing processes used to populate clinical dashboards and internal and external reporting
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder is expected to be experienced in SQL, reporting tools and technical minded with evidence of continued learning and development and ability to adapt to new reporting tools.
They will provide Directors, senior managers and clinicians with reports addressing a wide range of operational, clinical, strategic and policy questions to support performance monitoring.
To provide routine and ad-hoc high-quality information that enables the Trust to actively monitor clinical performance progress against targets and inform it's decision making process in this area.
To establish a good working relationship with colleagues within the Directorate of Strategy and Quality Development.
To undertake a lead role and responsibility for providing the complex data and meeting the reporting requirements on the service portal.
To undertake planning and prioritisation of own workload to ensure that deadlines agreed with the Health Informatics Manager are met.
To undertake to ensure that any reporting, whether of a complex or simple nature, runs efficiently and is automated where possible. Including web-based reporting across the whole of the trust.

Minimum grade C in GCSE English and Maths.
Degree level or equivalent knowledge and skills in a numerate discipline.
