We are currently recruiting a Bale Operator to join the Operations team at our MRF site in Braunstone Frith, Leicester. You would be operating the baler machines to ensure that bales of recyclable materials are the correct weight and are produced efficiently. The shift pattern is a Panama pattern with (2 days on; 2 days off; 3 days on; 2 days off; 2 days on; 3 days off). The hours are Week 1&2: 6.00am to 6.15pm, alternating with Week 3&4: 6.00pm to 6:15am.
Role and responsibilities
- Operate the baler machines on a daily basis.
- Undertake routine cleaning of the machinery and local area.
- Control the bailing process and keep re-baling to a minimum whilst looking for ways to improve the process.
- Provide feedback to the supervisors and process operators regarding bale quality.
- Ensure health & safety and environmental standards are upheld.
- Control the bale dressing procedure.
- Monitor stock of baling wire and report the levels to the assistant manager.
- Monitor dust extraction systems on a daily basis.
- Ensure noise management plans are adhered to.
