Job description
Main tasks and duties
· A mix of shifts both in the shop and out delivering to businesses
Clean driving license is essential
Helping customers in the shop with their purchases
· Handling cash payments and operating the till system ensuring transactions are accurately entered
· Answering the telephone and dealing with phone enquiries
· Dealing with online orders and ensuring that they are distributed
· Making up sandwiches/rolls for sale
· Preparation of pies other bakery items
· Controlling stock by:
o Checking items are not damaged and are hygienically packaged
o Checking sell by dates when relevant
o Stock rotation – ensuring older stock is displayed to the front and newer stock at the back
o Good product displays
· Cleaning shop areas on a daily basis
· Putting on washing and hanging out
· Check the temperatures of the chiller unit and freezers and recording the temperature in the Temperature book
· Other actions that support the shop supervisor to ensure that we meet environmental health and safety at work requirements.
· Packing, sealing and labelling of items
· Getting change from the bank when required
· Being the key holder and opening and closing the shop on occasions
· Check that any waste stock from the day is recorded in the Waste book under the relevant week
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15-35 per week
Salary: £10.42 per hour
