We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Baker to join our team. Pastry experience would be a bonus.
We’re an ambitious independent craft bakery in Birmingham who strives for the highest quality in our sourdough breads and pastries. This is an exciting opportunity with room for progression as we continue to grow and make plans for the future.
This is a full-time, shift-based role at our unit in Stirchley which includes early mornings and nights.
Salary: £25k per year
Job Description
- You will mix, prepare and bake our full range of breads which are slow fermented and enriched
- You'll produce our signature doughnuts, pastries and other items for our Bakeshop, markets and events - where you will also be expected to serve customers occasionally.
- You will open and close the bakery at the start and end of your shift.
- You will manage ordering, stock control and wastage.
- You will adhere to health and safety and food safety regulations.
- You will ensure all baked goods are completed to strict timelines and to an excellent standard.
Who we are looking for
- You’ll be passionate about bread, viennoiserie and pastry and producing them to the highest standard.
- You’ll be knowledgeable in traditional and slow fermentation bread-making techniques and have strong pastry skills.
- You’ll be brimming with ideas for new products.
- You’ll be willing to learn.
- You’ll have excellent organisational skills.
- You’ll be ambitious and show potential to develop into a senior role with support and guidance from the Head Baker.
- You’ll have at least one year experience of working in a bakery/kitchen environment, which includes mixing and shaping a range of breads.
- You’ll have excellent customer service skills.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene is preferable, however training will be provided.
