Fire Safety & Security Training/Data officer (Maternity Cover)
Maternity cover, fixed term 12 months
We are seeking to recruit a fire safety & security training/data officer to provide maternity cover for a 12 month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be supporting a well-established team, consisting of 2 fire safety advisors and a number of bank support staff. The role is advertised as full time however part time hours will also be considered.
The post holder will support the head & deputy head of fire and security in ensuring that the trust fulfils its compliance and health & safety obligations in respect of fire and security. This will include delivering training, recording training data and producing reports/graphs to highlight gaps in compliance.
The post holder will make recommendations on remedial actions as required and monitor key work streams such as fire and security risk assessments, highlighting when expiry dates are due in order to support compliance in this area. The post holder will also support with drafting communications in regards to fire safety and security, to support the department’s annual communication plan. They will also take lead on specific projects to support the fire and security teams where necessary. The services will be delivered in line with all relevant legislation, regulation and guidance in relation to the field of work by a suitably qualified individual to support the fire and security team in delivering these requirements.
The post holder will provide basic fire safety and security guidance/advice by monitoring the fire and security inbox and responding to queries as required. In addition, they will liaise with fire wardens and trust departments on fire and security matters as directed by the head & deputy head of fire and security, with the goal of ensuring patients and visitors are treated in a safe and appropriate environment.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, with excellent communication skills, possess the ability to work on their own initiative, and have good organisational skills. They will have excellent IT skills and be able to use the Microsoft Office suite of programmes to produce data for reporting purposes. The post holder must also be able to present training information to groups of individuals in a health care setting or utilise virtual platforms such as Microsoft Teams. Whilst desirable it is not essential that applicants have experience working in a healthcare environment.
