Our Cloud SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) team is looking for an experienced and passionate Azure Cloud SRE with strong hands-on development experience. As a Cloud SRE you'll be an active member of a cloud-focused team of engineers - working on one of the Group's flagship projects to deliver a strategic platform on Azure Cloud Platform (depending on your skills and experience) that will enable the business to realize the next generation of services that form the Bank's vision for 2023 and beyond.

Our Cloud SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) team is looking for an experienced and passionate Azure Cloud SRE with strong hands-on development experience. As a Cloud SRE you'll be an active member of a cloud-focused team of engineers - working on one of the Group's flagship projects to deliver a strategic platform on Azure Cloud Platform (depending on your skills and experience) that will enable the business to realize the next generation of services that form the Bank's vision for 2023 and beyond.
The role will have accountabilities including:
- Delivering against Azure and Cloud-technology roadmaps
- Collaboratively working with other engineering teams to build and release enterprise-class solutions that progress the programme's roadmap
- Maintaining, supporting & improving our Public Cloud platforms using SRE principles including some 24x7 standby requirements.
What you'd get involved with:
- Continuous iteration of our Infrastructure as Code & pipeline based product catalogue, responding to change, implementing enhancements & improving the platform reliability
- Maintaining the evergreen nature of our platform, ensuring our platform remains current
- Investigating, fixing and removing service issues with an engineering mindset
- Implementing further automation and reducing toil, utilising new & existing Cloud products
What's needed to be considered for this job?
Essential:
- Strong DevOps understanding, "Infrastructure as Code" using technology such as Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, ARM templates, blueprints etc.
- Experience in developing DevOps pipelines to deliver automation of infrastructure or applications.
- Good understanding in four or more Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes clusters , API management, Application gateway, Virtual machines, Virtual networks, Network security groups, load balancer, express route etc.
- Ability to write scripts in languages such as PowerShell, BASH, BICEP and so on
- You need to be experienced at solving problems and troubleshooting, fixing and resolving issues
Desirable:
- Experience working with a broad set of Public Cloud technologies and services.
- Good understanding of Cloud Security tools such as Microsoft Defender for cloud, Azure policies, Sentinel etc.
- Recent practical experience using SDKs and APIs to deliver automation.
- Demonstrates a passion to continue to learn and develop your engineering skills
- Training or certifications in any cloud platform, such as Azure, GCP, AWS

- Ability to work with architectural, business and other engineers to shape, design and engineer solutions.
- Ability to work with a team of engineers to deliver domain-owned deliverables and dependencies.
- Continuous curiosity to learn and develop themselves with industry best practice methods and tooling in the cloud function.
- Technology agnostic and are willing to adapt their approach in pursuit of the best solution.
