Title: Test Automation Engineer
Location: Dundee
Grade: 09

Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

The successful applicant will be involved in a highly motivated team of software and test engineers, operating within the Dundee Discovery Centre, with a focus on performing automated / robotic testing and analysis to ensure high quality software solutions for NCR Financial Solutions. They will:

Develop automated and manual tests cases
Execute automated and manual tests cases
Install and configure solution test environments
Record, maintain and archive test results
Apply processes, procedures and tools used by the team
Debug / troubleshoot to assist Developers with resolving defects
Innovate with improvements to current processes and procedures
Engage in and contribute to team discussions
Collaborate with other teams in a cross-functional environment
Participate in peer reviews of test artefacts

Basic Qualifications

BSc in a computing/technical discipline, or equivalent on-the-job experience
Attention to detail, with a drive to identify defects in the solution
Ability to self-motivate and learn new technologies
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to robotics and / or electronics
Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC architecture would be an advantage
Knowledge of NCR software /hardware would be an advantage.
Performance testing and tools on Windows operating systems
Defect management tools (for example Jira)
Knowledge of CEN XFS standard

Experience with JIRA or similar defect tracking
Experience with GitHub or similar source code tracking.
