Lilly is designing and building a new state of the art Parenteral, Device Assembly, and Packaging Facility located at the Research Triangle Park (RTP) in North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and operate a state-of-the-art manufacturing site and Quality System from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
Our new RTP (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina) facility will be one of Lilly’s most technically advanced manufacturing sites and will include robotic technologies, integrated OT and IT technologies, and advanced data collection and analysis platforms that will result in safety improvements, increased productivity, and variability reduction.
As the Utilities Automation Engineer you will be supporting and managing multiple platforms including clean GMP utilities, building management systems, primary and backup monitoring systems, and other site-wide platforms crucial to the manufacturing of medicine.
In, addition you will have the following Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Partner with Corporate Automation and Global Facilities delivery to design, install, and qualify central utilities, clean utilities, BMS, QBMS, and other site-wide systems.
System Administration ownership of these platforms including user access controls, automated alarm management, data capture and analysis, and system life cycle management.
Lead the integration of these systems into the site data collection and SCADA layer.
Manage and own the system security including data integrity.
Perform audits and periodic assessments of the systems to ensure compliance with Global Quality and Engineering Standards.
Lead the management and growth of the platforms as new process systems are added to the facility.
Partner with Corporate Automation for global initiatives including advanced data programs and cyber security.
Develop site procedures that will govern the utility related control systems.
Be a champion for site safety activities, diversity/inclusion, ethics, and compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related science field
Minimum 2 years’ experience in automation or process control
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Expertise in Rockwell Automation Platforms including FactoryTalk View SCADA and ControlLogix PLC's.
Knowledge related to ISE S95 principles and IT/Automation integration.
Experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP industry.
Experience working with validated systems.
Experience in OSI/PI Data Historians or related technology.
Experience in Microsoft operating systems, virtual environments, and networking.
Communicate effectively with internal customers, business partners, and leadership including written and visual presentations.
Experience in automation utility and building management systems.
Additional Information:
This position will be based at our Raleigh, North Carolina plant (RTP), however, a short-term assignment in Indianapolis, Indiana may be required for learning and training.
Schedule - 8 hour days - Monday through Friday, overtime and some weekend/holiday may be required for project support.
Travel - Domestic and International travel may be required (10%) during project delivery phase.
