Job Description
We're looking for an expert Test Automation Engineer who can work within a dynamic team, to build, test, release and support software, using an Automation toolchain. You'll be from a hands-on test automation engineering background being responsible for the building, developing and maintaining of test automation for SWIFT Gateway, instilled with the ethos of delivering high quality solutions. They will take ownership for backlog items, quality of build and test and ensure accurate deployments into the Production estate, seeking methods (tooling and processes) to ensure high standards are maintained in line with expectations for Higher levels of Automation, for Group Critical solutions.

We're looking to recruit Test Automation Engineer to work within the SWIFT Engineering team in Edinburgh, and will help drive strategy of a complex group of applications. Define and supervise quality standards for what and how we do things within the team. Involvement will also help colleagues improve their own knowledge and skills by coaching and mentoring them.

Here’s how you’ll make a difference
Drawing on your knowledge of Test Automation to mentor other team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge by coaching and supporting them day to day, to achieve key outcomes and support organisational goals
- be involved in hands-on development and maintenance of our test automation, and find ways to increase the intelligence within it.
- Working with our Engineering Leads, you will be shaping the strategy, and defining the technical solutions on how we integrate our automation beyond our applications and developing tools which can be used wider across our lab.
- Through our “SWIFT Chapter” model, we encourage sharing of new solutions and techniques within the chapter and with other parts of the wider payments engineering value stream.
What we need from you:
Apply your expertise to act as the organisational authority on –
- Building, Maintaining and Improving SWIFT Payments Test Automation.
- Hands on proven and recent Technical experience on the below technologies -
BDD Cucumber Framework. (TestNG Framework experience welcomed as well) Technology Stack - JUnit, Java, Spring Boot, Jenkins and GitHub, Maven, Nexus, Eclipse, Selenium, Oracle/SQL DB. Development, performance tuning of APIs. Containerisation and testing of container applications.
