TRAINEE INDEPENDENT SUPPORT PRACTITIONER
TO BE BASED IN THE READING AREA
Applicants who are already based in the UK & looking for both sponsorship & a full time position (40hrs) are welcome to apply for this role.
Basic full time starting salary £23,832 FTE based on 40hrs per week - rising with experience
Add in just + 8 hours overtime per month = Potential salary £25,034 per annum
(Enhanced overtime rate is applied to 40hrs plus per week)

(During the transition to Reading Berkshire you may be required to travel to Abingdon however your travel expenses will be covered by Autism at Kingwood)

Autism at Kingwood already has an excellent reputation as a specialist support provider of services for people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health issues and Asperger's Syndrome. Our aim is to support adults to develop new skills and live independently both at home and in the community.
Kingwood are supporting a woman to live a good and meaningful life. The person will live in her own home located in Reading Berkshire.
We are looking to recruit passionate and experienced individuals to work with a lady with complex needs and who has experienced severe trauma in her life.
You will need experience of working with individuals with ASD and/or mental health needs and those who may challenge a service along with basic knowledge and experience of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Trauma Informed Support and low arousal approaches with a further knowledge of Pathological Demand Avoidance.
By the way of support and to improve/enhance current skills you will need to complete and pass an intensive, specialised training programme required for the role.
The successful applicant will also have basic knowledge and understanding of the Transforming Care Programme, will have the opportunity to be part of and work within a team and be able to share their expertise while working in a proactive way. Also building and maintaining a positive relationship is crucial to effectively support her to have an increased quality of life.
Successful applicants will have the autonomy and should be responsible and accountable for overseeing day to day service delivery whilst ensuring her needs and wishes remains at the centre of everything they do. It is also important for her to feel safe and have trust in her support team.
This lady has a great sense of humour, she’s incredibly kind and has a passion for maths, numbers and chemistry. She’s also caring and likes contributing to her community. Therefore having a team of people around her who are car drivers is essential.
K’s family and friends are very important to her, building strong and positive relationships with K’s family and friends will increase K’s confidence in the support she receives.
The work can be also be challenging but the rewards make every day meaningful.

Evening and weekends will be required, although these will always be planned in advance to allow you as much notice as possible.
