At Autism Matters our member experience is absolutely everything. We are a rapidly growing charity, with expansion plans both in our main site, and nationally, to impact more people. Our social groups are legendary! We provide groups in house and in the community almost every evening. We are looking for an energetic Manager that is passionate about making a difference in the lives of Autistic adults, their families and the community.

- This is a full time role, our full time hours are 36.5 a week, based at our Thornaby/ Stockton HQ, with some evening and weekend hours needed. The pay is between £27,340 and £30,00 Pro Rata.
- Hours can be varied across the week depending on the needs of the social groups and its members, but the ideal candidate will be able to do most of their hours from Monday - Friday.
- Unlike large organisations, being in a fast paced smaller charity, you get to be an integral part of the team. We want you to use your initiative, and have real responsibility. We are rapidly expanding and looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

What are the requirements?
The role is to support the founders Lynne and Anna in continuing to execute and develop an incredible Social Group service in Teesside. The right candidate will lead the established service provision and the support team fully. You will have the opportunity to manage and lead an fantastic staff team of 40+ PT staff, in providing amazing experiences for its 130+ members.
The right candidate will be happy to participate in and review 2/3 social group sessions a week, with each session being 3-4 hours. As well as organising their time to complete the necessary admin and staff management to the highest of standards.
Relationships are everything at Autism Matters and we pride ourselves on being there for our members and their families. You will need to have a deep understanding of people and the ability to empathise with the realities of their day to day lives.
The right candidate will ideally have first had experience of working with autistic adults, and a deep rooted ambition to make the provisions available the best they can be. You will already have proven people management experience and good self awareness of how you lead a team.
Tasks
- Managing people (40+ PT support worker staff / Autistic members 130. Admin team up to 2 PT) Interviews / staff reviews / disciplinaries)
- Planning and organisation. Week to week session planning, rotas, logistics, events, team training.
- Review of services, home visits and Social workers meetings to discuss support plans and review plans for new members.
- Team suppervisions, and deal with staffing processes, including holidays and sickness.
- Feedback from sessions and meeting member requests
- Local authorities connections - continually building rapport and knowledge with other organisations.
- Costings and finances - working with Chief Finance Officer and Founders, to help manage social group budgets. Commercial awareness is key- you will have responsibility for your budget.

- When running social groups: Transporting members to and from their activities
- Hosting/ running day social group session
- Hosting/ running evening and weekend activities such as; go karting, rock climbing, theatre trips, bowling, craft session, cooking sessions.
- Supporting and communicating with carers and social workers
You must
- Have a DBS certificate or be willing to have one done
- Have a full and clear UK driving licence with business insurance
- Be able to use Google drive (inc Google Sheets) and Gmail
