Graduate and AAT Apprenticeship Audit Positions - Bath
A prestigious accountancy firm is currently recruiting a Graduate trainee or AAT Apprenticeship to join their audit team.The main office is situated in the centre of Bath but there is also a sister office in Bristol and the firm is part of a large UK and international network of firms.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to start or continue their career within the accountancy field working for a highly reputable, well established but expanding company with many international links. For graduate or trainee positions the successful candidate(s) will get full training and exam support in order to achieve an accountancy qualification (ICAEW, ACCA or AAT) over a 3 year period. The firm provides a really varied 3 years of training in audit and accountancy across a very broad range of client types and sizes and in a number of locations.
Depending on experience duties will include:
- Working within a team, undertaking aspects of audit engagements, including planning, performing and completing statutory audits of financial statements.
- Clients include Charities, Academy Schools, Pension Schemes, Individual companies and groups, across a broad range of industries, and covering smaller owner managed businesses up to £100m turnover businesses
- Maintain and develop client relationships while working on site, and working closely with client management teams to gather information, resolve problems and make recommendations for business and process improvements
- Involvement to include statutory audits, as well as non-statutory audit, grant claim reporting and other compliance engagements.
- Undertake non-audit financial statement preparation assignments
- Opportunities for various ad-hoc projects including management accounting, corporate finance engagements (acquisitions, due diligence, business valuations) and finance raising for clients
Candidates will gain experience of working across a broad range of industries as well as experience of other accounting functions, such as VAT reporting, management accounting and a sound understanding of corporation tax.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate strengths such as team work, initiative and decision making as well as providing excellent service to clients . Strong numerical skills are a key requirement for this role but so are good interpersonal and communication skills.
