Audio Visual Specialist
Directorate of Technology, Estates & Facilities - IT Services
The Directorate of Technology, Estates and Facilities [DTEF] is responsible for ‘providing outstanding work, study, research facilities, and facilities to enhance the student experience, on campus and online’.
This role is part of the Audio Visual (AV) team within IT Services. The AV team provides support to teaching, conferences and events across the University facilities.
Role
The Audio Visual department is primarily focused on providing equipment and support to teaching and meetings on campus and in the city. Working as part of a team, you will specify, maintain, commission and operate a wide range of teaching space technologies, including working with academics and students to understand their needs and provide a high quality service. You will also support organisers and performers in developing AV requirements for events and productions, including conferences, that you will then support.
Experience of Configuring AV control systems; Use of video cameras, camera mixing and streaming systems or event audio production would be particularly beneficial to this role.
You will typically work 08:30 - 17:30, 4 or 5 days Monday to Friday depending on operational requirements but will be required to cover evenings, bank holidays, weekends and closure days when needed.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
Level 3 qualification. (Qualifications at this level include A levels. Please view the full list). We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-uk qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
Experience of delivering support from first line to specialist technical resolution
Ability to guide non-technical users to the appropriate technical solution
Full UK driving licence
Ability to drive and follow health and safety best practice
Ability to work safely and comfortably at height
Ability to work on own initiative while conveying a positive attitude
Ability to carry out significant manual handling duties
Experience of configuration and fault finding of classroom AV equipment, for example Crestron or Extron video / audio processing & control
