Job description
This is a young and welcoming household located in a historic house in Cumbria. We are looking for an enthusiastic and responsible individual to join our family as a live in Au Pair / Nanny. We are a busy, working family with, at certain times of the year a total of 7 children from 12 years of age down to a new born due to arrive in the next few months.
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive and nurturing care in a safe and secure environment
- Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities to promote child development
- Prepare meals and snacks for children, ensuring they are nutritious and meet any dietary restrictions
- Assist with homework and educational activities
- Maintain a clean and organized play area
- Follow parents' instructions regarding routines, discipline, and any specific care needs
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns
Skills:
- Previous experience working as a babysitter or nanny is preferred
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations calmly
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
