Working Arrangements: Part Time, permanent, 0.4 FTE (15h / week). Potential for flexible working arrangements and hybrid work.
Basic annual leave entitlement: Pro-Rata 25 days basic leave, 8 bank holidays and 3 efficiency days (for Christmas closure). Holiday entitlement rises by 1 day each year for the first 5 years of continuous service.
Notice period: One months
Spine Points: Support scale 6- 9 £23,055.83 (£11.82p/h) - £24,348.68 (£12.49p/h) FTE (£9,222.332- £9,739.472 actual). Pay increase scheduled 1st December 2023.
We are looking for a Marketing and Outreach Assistant to support our day-to-day marketing and promotional efforts to drive audience engagement and ticket sales at the Cheltenham Playhouse. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the theatre and connect with audiences through creative marketing and outreach initiatives. This is an exciting but challenging role for an individual to play a pivotal role in the rapid expansion of the charity.
Key purposes of this role:
Increase brand awareness
Assist with Cheltenham Playhouse’s promotional materials
Managing social media platforms
Public Relations / community outreach
Work effectively as part of the Cheltenham Playhouse team
Your line manager will be the Deputy General Manager.
Overtime must be authorised in advance by your line manager.
All staff are expected to work within Cheltenham Playhouse policies and procedures, with particular regard for Health & Safety and safeguarding.
Increase brand awareness:
Develop Cheltenham Playhouse brand awareness.
Assist in developing and implementing marketing campaigns: Create marketing strategies and promotional plans to increase ticket sales and audience engagement.
Increase marketing opportunities for Cheltenham Playhouse.
Create Graphics for shows and the theatre.
Assist with Cheltenham Playhouse’s promotional materials & email marketing:
Coordinate marketing materials: Support the production of marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, posters, and digital assets, ensuring brand consistency.
Assist in email marketing efforts to promote shows and events.
Managing social media platforms:
Manage social media presence: Help maintain and grow the theatre's social media channels, including scheduling and posting content, engaging with followers, and analysing social media metrics.
Set up paid advertising for social media.
Build followers and presence on Social media platforms.
Public Relations / community outreach:
Engaging with the theatre community.
Developing Cheltenham Playhous’s Public Relations.
Developing our community outreach within Cheltenham and surrounding areas.
Attending events as a theatre representative.
Promote the venue and spaces available for use.
Assist in the development of ideas in the expansion and diversification of the charity.
Work effectively as part of the Cheltenham Playhouse team:
Suggest and implement marketing improvements.
Collaborate with Playhouse management staff.
Assist with General Administrative tasks. Provide administrative support to management and faculty leads
PERSONAL PROFILE
We are seeking someone who closely matches the following criteria:
Requirements and skills:
Proficiency in social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and Meta Business Suit.
A good self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Ability to work within a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to produce compelling marketing copy and engage with diverse audiences.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
Experience in creating Graphics.
Passion for the performing arts and a desire to contribute to the growth of a theatre community.
Qualifications:
Qualification in marketing.
Clean DBS check or willing to gain.
Experience:
Experience within marketing; can be newly qualified.
Experience using social media platforms.

Theatre profile both within the company and the wider community
Compliance with Playhouse processes
Feedback for Line Manager and Supervisor
