Job description

The XenServer Business Unit is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our highly skilled Operations Team

The Operations Team works alongside our engineering teams to deliver services that support the development, testing and publication of our hypervisor product. You will be responsible for the improvement, monitoring and maintenance of our on-prem and cloud infrastructure that supports our engineering teams. As an Associate Software Engineer you will become familiar with our critical services and pipelines used to construct and publish our products and tools.

Responsibilities

Contributing towards planning and implementation activities of services and pipelines
Investigation and resolution of issues that may be raised by our internal engineering customers
Identifying repetitive and time consuming processes independently which can be automated
Confident and clear communication with other team members both written and verbal
Actively participating in agile project methodology

Qualifications

Basic understanding of compute, networking and storage concepts
Experience of writing in one or more of the following: Python, Groovy, Bash, PowerShell, C#, Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Knowledge of the difference between virtual and physical infrastructure including both on-prem and cloud
Basic understanding of Server-Client architecture, ideally with some experience of implementing REST, web, or distributed applications
