The Role
The candidate is expected to provide project management support and thought leadership in the discipline of project management across all projects in the Location Strategy programme. The candidate will be required to work independently and engage relevant stakeholders to ensure that business requirements for a function’s Location Strategy are met and outputs are delivered on time and to budget. Additionally, the candidate may be expected to take ownership of leading location strategy engagements for business functions requiring a small number of people transitions, overseeing all aspects of the transition plan.
The Team
Condé Nast has embarked on a significant transformation; to modernise its business creating a truly global organisation, to grow audiences and to develop new and exciting products. This transformation is multi-year and includes in excess of 50 projects within its portfolio for the team.
What will you be doing?
  • Assist in the definition of scope and objectives and engage relevant stakeholders to provide input into the development of Business Cases.
  • Help to define and set up governance models, and proactively drive regular progress meetings.
  • Input into / develop comprehensive transition plans, track and monitor progress against them and share with key stakeholders as required.
  • Identify, communicate and manage dependencies on other initiatives/teams / third parties.
  • Effectively liaise with the business sponsor(s) to ensure business requirements are understood and delivered.
  • Employ a proactive approach to stakeholder management, to establish and maintain a clear communication plan, working with the Change Management team as required.
  • Drive day-to-day activities in line with the transition plan and proactively seek to unblock issues as they arise.
  • Capture risks and issues within the project’s RAID log and develop appropriate responses to mitigate/minimise their impact on the project.
  • Support with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation in line with Condé Nast’s Delivery Framework.
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting on transition progress, escalating risks and issues for visibility/decision as appropriate
  • Contribute towards improving current practices of the programme team.
  • Where required, independently lead location strategy engagements for business functions requiring a small number of people transitions with support from a central location strategy team.
Who you are:
  • Project management experience, either supporting or owning the delivery of projects.
  • Relevant project management-related qualification(s): Prince2, Agile PM, APMP, PMI or similar.
  • Relevant sector experience in media, publishing or production.
  • Experience of working on location strategy, outsourcing or shared services engagements for large global organisations is desired.
  • Understanding of transition requirements and challenges faced in location strategy, outsourcing or shared services engagements for large global organisations.
  • Tenacity, drive and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, ensuring confidence in conflict resolution and the ability to adapt their style to different stakeholders across different markets.
  • Fluent English speaker. Other European languages (desirable).
  • Highly proficient with G-Suite / MS Office.
  • Able to travel to European markets if required.
Where will you be?
  • We encourage hybrid working but when you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in the wonderful Adelphi building with breathtaking views over the Thames and next to the hustle and bustle of The Strand. This is our London HQ and where members of our global teams sit enabling all of our award-winning content to be created.
