Do you have expertise in contracts & procurement, or child, adult social care, regulatory or planning and would like to work flexibly where and when it suits you? If yes and you are an experienced solicitor, barrister or legal executive in any of those areas of the law Bath & North East Somerset Council have opportunities for you to work as an Associate Lawyer on a casual basis. Working alongside the in house legal team you’ll be under no obligation to accept work and each assignment will be agreed with you in advance.


The Role


This opportunity is likely to suit experienced lawyers looking to build a portfolio career. You will be comfortable in using your initiative and on a given assignment will work directly with internal client officers with minimal supervision.


The range of assignments we can offer will interest lawyers across a range of disciplines including contracts & procurement, children and adult social care, planning, commercial landlord & tenant, prosecution of regulatory offences and supporting the Council’s alcohol and taxi licensing functions. The assignments on offer, whether income generation or supporting vulnerable groups, will provide interesting and rewarding work with the opportunity of working across a variety of Council functions focused on improving people’s lives.

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
