The New York Philharmonic connects with millions of music lovers each season through live concerts in New York and around the world, as well as broadcasts, recordings, and education programs. After returning to a transformed David Geffen Hall in October 2022, the Orchestra has a renewed commitment to building on a 180-year-old legacy of excellence by serving as a platform for today’s creators and connecting with our communities. In the 2023–24 season the NY Phil marks Jaap van Zweden’s farewell season as Music Director, and features 14 World, US, and New York Premieres, a celebration of the centennial of our famous Young People’s Concerts, and more. In February 2023 the New York Philharmonic announced the appointment of Gustavo Dudamel as the Orchestra’s next maestro, to begin as Music and Artistic Director in 2026–27, after serving as Music Director Designate in 2025–26. The New York Philharmonic seeks an Associate Director, Growth Marketing. The Associate Director, Growth Marketing is a data‐driven marketer who will oversee and implement lifecycle marketing initiatives that expand and deepen customer purchasing and relationships, including the subscription campaign, acquisition strategies, and customer journey initiatives. They will also oversee market research and sales analysis, working with external vendors and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include: Manage acquisition and retention strategies of customer segments at various stages in their loyalty journey, ranging from new market prospects to first‐time attendees to multi‐single ticket buyers to concert package subscribers. Oversee the subscription campaign and other loyalty efforts to increase retention, reduce churn, and expand the lifetime value of customers. Use data‐driven decisions to determine growth strategy, and incorporate customer insights, campaign results, and sales cycle findings to propose solutions and initiatives. Oversee and collaborate with the Marketing Analyst on weekly and ad-hoc reporting and forecasting. Collaborate with advertising and promotions and brand leads to develop 360‐degree marketing campaigns and cross‐channel content, and to refine marketing processes. Oversee the analysis of loyalty campaigns, report on year‐over‐year trends, and make recommendations for optimization and improvement. Oversight and collaboration on all direct marketing efforts working with the Email Marketing Manager and Direct Marking Manager. Collaborate with colleagues across the Customer Relations, Development, Digital, and IT areas to develop audience strategies with measurable results. Work closely with Customer Relations to align on customer experience initiatives tied to tenure, buyer segments, and audience engagement. Create and oversee business rules, project and creative briefs, and procedures for growth and loyalty marketing campaigns. Oversee management of vendors to conduct customer and market research, including surveys, focus groups, and other research, in order to drive organizational strategy and brand improvements. Work closely with Marketing leads and Director, Customer Relations on pricing analysis and in-season pricing and inventory management strategies. Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment. Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Requirements: Demonstrated supervision of a staff of 2 or more employees. The candidate must have proven success and experience with lifecycle marketing campaigns, CRM, audience development, customer research and analysis, and building and maintaining internal and external collaborative relationships. Prior experience in sales of multi‐event subscriptions, memberships, or package products. The candidate should have strong analytical skills and a data‐driven approach to problem‐solving, as well as the ability to work effectively and strategically in a very fast‐paced environment. Previous experience in the arts sector and experience with Tessitura.
