We are seeking an Associate Director to join the Global Healthcare Compliance Training and Communications team. This role will report to the Global Head of Healthcare Compliance Training and Communications and will focus on supporting the global strategy to enhance our Compliance program. This role will also support creating and designing content for compliance training modules for business functions including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Finance and Clinical, among others. The role will work in partnership with the Global Therapy Area Legal team, the International Legal team, and other Legal and Healthcare Compliance colleagues to support in enhancing the effectiveness of global compliance training and communication. The scope of the role will have a global influence and collaboration.
Role and responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and execution of the healthcare compliance training and communication strategic objectives
- Lead in identifying training gaps for the business, developing customized training to address the needs and soliciting cross-functional feedback before finalizing and roll out of training initiatives
- Explore and generate fun, innovative, and creative methods of training to enhance Gilead’s compliance-minded environment
- Provide input in the design, creation and delivery of training content specific to the strategic objectives
- Work collaboratively with attorneys and members of the global compliance monitoring, policy, and transparency & systems pillars to ensure effective and efficient pull-through of compliance needs into a training plan and curriculum
- Oversee members of the team in planning and managing instructional design projects and promote collaboration, partnerships and relationships among the participants in a design project
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices, including e-Learning
- Help ensure readiness of the organization for training deployment including identifying key stakeholders and determining their needs in advance in order to deliver high quality and effective training modules
- Partner with the International Legal Centre of Excellence to ensure seamless coordination of training between Legal and Global Compliance
- Partner with affiliate Legal to ensure that training needs are assessed periodically and addressed as necessary
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in Public Affairs to plan and deliver on compliance communication strategies.
Requirements:
- Relevant prior experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry with an emphasis on training
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree (Such as JD/MS/PharmD/MBA) or other similar certification preferred.
- Previous healthcare compliance, legal, and/or pharmaceutical training experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Word, particularly as used in the development of instructional content
- In-depth understanding of business objectives and how these translate into healthcare compliance Experience with the structures and concepts that facilitate and effective compliance program
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken with an inquisitive mindset, able to work in a matrixed organization with multiple functions, together with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to quickly establish credibility with diverse audiences and be perceived as an empowering leader yet be hands-on when necessary
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong project management skills
