About the Team

As a lawyer at Uber, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Uber and Uber Eats businesses, helping us navigate legal challenges and disputes, and ensuring compliance with regulations across the UK and Ireland.

About the Role

You will champion legal excellence by being at the forefront of Uber's legal efforts, providing expert advice on a wide range of litigation and regulatory matters, from resolving complex disputes to analysing regulatory developments. You’ll take the lead in handling a diverse range of litigation, from commercial disputes to pre-action matters and you’ll proactively identify potential areas of litigation risk and develop proactive measures to mitigate exposure, safeguarding Uber's interests and reputation. You’ll also be comfortable in regulatory road mapping so we can stay ahead of the game by monitoring and interpreting regulatory changes that affect our business models across Uber and Uber Eats.

Your Impact in Role:

  • Champion of innovation:

You'll work closely with product teams to identify potential legal risks and devise proactive strategies to minimise exposure. You’ll turn challenges into opportunities by devising out-of-the-box solutions to intricate legal issues to achieve ambitious operational goals for the business.
  • A true team player: You’ll be part of a close-knit legal team but you will also work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive Uber's mission forward.
  • Clear Communicator: Excellent communication skills - adept at turning legal jargon into clear, succinct and engaging advice.

The Experience You’ll Bring:

  • UK qualified with 3-4PQE+ experience at a top-notch law firm or in-house
  • Experience in handling contentious matters such as commercial litigation, public law or regulatory.
  • Strong business judgement and commercial acumen, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Most importantly, a sense of humour and a willingness to embrace fun and excitement while tackling serious legal challenges!
  • Collaborative approach with a strong ability to facilitate ideas, build relationships, gain credibility and partner with others.
  • A “go get it” attitude!
