International Wholesale Liability
A market leader in Lloyd’s, this long-established and growing London-based team forms part of the London Wholesale Casualty business unit and underwrites general liability risks for a vast array of businesses around the world. It writes risks in the open market and via facilities and delegated authority arrangements, ranging from railways in Australia to ski resorts in Canada to chemical plants in South America and to hotels in the Caribbean. As an Assistant Underwriter you will work with our industry leading Underwriters to support them through the underwriting process for new and renewal business, ensuring that our clients and brokers experience the highest level of service.
You will have the opportunity to work with our Actuarial experts to learn how to use pricing models and systems to support the underwriting process, as well as building your experience to enhance your own underwriting authority.
What will your role as an Assistant Underwriter include?
- Prepare underwriting proposals, working with the Actuarial Pricing team where needed, to present to the Underwriter
- Conducting research and analysis on companies, industries or locations for potential new business
- Reviewing renewal proposals and endorsement requests for existing business
- Ensuring all underwriting activities are documented on the underwriting systems to the required data quality standards
- Preparing monthly reports on underwriting activity
- Building an internal network to support sharing of information and data between functions
You will report to the Underwriting Manager
SHARE your talent
As an Assistant Underwriter you will be working toward building your Underwriting experience, having some of the expereince and skills below will help;
- Ideally you will have an understanding of the fundamentals of the Insurance industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to learn, build skills and learn how to manage the underwriting process
- Ability to use analysis and reasoning to work through information and reach a reasoned conclusion
