You will be responsible for Treasury payment settlements and bank account management, covering Group debt obligations of over £15bn and a derivatives portfolio with a notional value of over £9bn
This is a senior role in the Treasury team at the UK’s largest Water and Wastewater Company, in which you will be responsible for treasury payments, settlements and cash controls, reporting into the Group Treasurer.
This role will give the right person an exciting challenge and scope to help shape cash management, payment controls and processes at Thames Water, and involves building and maintaining relationships both within the company and with our external lenders, paying agents and transaction counterparties.
This role is based in our Reading head office with hybrid working from home
What you’ll be doing as Assistant Treasury Manager
- Daily cash management analysis, bank account management and Treasury payments
- Timely and accurate deal confirmations and payment processes, KYC and departmental invoice processing
- Development of Treasury cash management processes including optimal utilisation of the Treasury Management System in line with best practice
- Line manager of a Treasury Analyst and Treasury Graduate/Assistant
- Understanding the restrictions and requirements of the Group’s securitised funding arrangements
- Contributing to the development of Treasury policy and procedures and monitoring and reporting compliance
- Liaison with colleagues, providing them with information to support the production of Treasury financial statements
- Cooperative interaction with internal and external auditors
- Work as ‘one team’ with Treasury colleagues and other finance functions
What you should bring to the role
- A qualified treasurer or accountant with a minimum of 5 years payments management experience
- An understanding of debt and derivatives transactions, including index-linked
- Highly organised and systematic with a strong attention to detail
- Good at building relationships, a team-player and an effective communicator
- Excellent MS excel skills, familiar with Treasury Management Systems and accounting systems
- Line management experience desirable
