Hour of Work: 35 per week, Monday to Friday.

An opportunity has become available for an Assistant Trade Supervisor to become part of C~urb’s Trades Team. The Assistant Trade Supervisor will assist the Planned Maintenance Trade Supervisor to deliver Link’s Planned Maintenance program, mainly replacing and upgrading components such as (but not exclusive to) windows and doors throughout Link’s housing stock.
The post will involve monitoring the progress of the installation works; from pre-inspection through to final sign-off. The Assistant Trade Supervisor will also be responsible for the line management of a small group of trade operatives.
The successful postholder will arrange for works to be issued to trade operatives and external contractors and will monitor ongoing works to ensure work is satisfactory and undertaken in line with statutory requirements, regulatory and technical standards, customer expectations and organisational procedures.
About You
As Assistant Trade Supervisor, you will have knowledge of the building maintenance industry including relevant experience in the inspection of domestic property and the remedy of maintenance problems. This role requires an HNC in a Building/Technical/Construction related subject, or equivalent Trade Qualification.
You will have the ability to prepare and interpret specifications and prepare schedules of work utilising a prepaid schedule of rates. This will require accurate computer skills and strong keyboard skills, with the ability to use a variety of IT systems to record and process data accurately and efficiently.
The successful postholder must be conversant with current legislation and statutory requirements relating to building and inspection works. You will have the ability to contribute to and support the work of other members of the team. Strong organisational and prioritising skills are required in order to meet deadlines and targets.
You will have an understanding of customer focused service delivery and will have the ability to take the initiative and make informed decisions. The postholder will have the ability to adapt to new systems and procedures and to help colleagues use these effectively.
As Assistant Trade Supervisor, you will have the ability to understand and apply policy and procedures in day to day working and must be able to receive and process information accurately, in a clear and concise manner.
