Job description

Location - Tottenham Hale

A Fairer Chance is a Community Interest Company delivering trauma informed, tailor made, innovative support services for ex-offenders who face barriers finding employment.

Due to growth, we are adding a brand new role to our team, and we are looking for a person with the right skills, knowledge, and desire to be a key part in helping people to achieve their potential in the workplace and improve their lives. As this will be a new role, we are looking for somebody who can take initiative and share their ideas and knowledge to shape the role. This is a brilliant opportunity for somebody who is a team player with a solid work ethic, can prioritise and is self-motivated.

We want to recruit someone, primarily to support the Business Development Director but, as we are a small team, get involved in all aspects of the business

We pride ourselves on our knowledge of the Labour Market and strive to get the right job for the people we support.

Our work is both in custody and in the community and applications are welcome from people with lived experience of the criminal Justice system, who can achieve clearance to work in prisons.

We are in our twelfth year and generate our income through delivering on contracts from a number of sources including Government and Industry Bodies.

Formal qualifications are not essential but good relevant experience, and the ability to communicate well, in person, by phone and in writing is.

In addition to supporting the Director, you will have line management responsibility for case managers. We aim high and our case managers are completing a Level 4 Apprenticeship as Employment Practitioner. We would support further relevant training for the successful candidate.

We are looking for someone who is really committed to what we do and can fit in with our small teat that includes an office dog.

Essential

· Be sympathetic to our clients’ needs, non-judgmental and compassionate.

· Minimum of three years’ experience in recruitment, administration, advisory work, bid writing or other related area. Paid or unpaid

· Some experience of managing staff.

· Experience of researching funding opportunities and drafting responses.

· Excellent IT skills including ability to set up and manage data bases.

· An understanding of the London labour market ( we will ask for a short presentation at interview stage)

Desirable

· Experience of working in the Criminal Justice System

· Understanding of DWP and MOJ funding

· Reporting on contracts and feeding back to directors, funders and stakeholders

As a social business we share the success with our staff and where we meet or surpass our targets there is the ability to earn bonuses.

We are looking at someone to work between 20 and 30 hours a week

Salary. Subject to negotiation. Minimum Pro rata £28,000
