Job Summary
About the Laboratory
Due to our continued growth and success, we can offer rewarding opportunities in a research environment. Working as an Assistant Technician, you’ll join a team which is predominantly involved in animal necropsies a niche part of the drug development process. Such an Assistant Technician may also receive cross training within certain aspects of animal care and dosing procedures. Some tissue processing and other routine laboratory methods may also become a factor within this post. The post requires no previous experience as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. The following are responsibilities related to the Assistant Technician:
- Carrying out laboratory procedures predominantly within necropsy with some specialised niche necropsy procedures therein.
- Procedures on all routine laboratory animal species
- Sampling, the treatment of samples and sample preparation prior to and post fixation of samples
The following are minimum qualifications related to the Assistant Technician position:
- A minimum of 5 standard grades or equivalent
- Flexible approach to suit the needs of the business
- Able to work flexible hours to suit business requirements, including overtime
- Commitment to quality and meeting deadlines
- Ability to sustain bench working conditions for long periods of time
- Passion for Animal Welfare
- Passion for improving the quality of life of patients

The salary for this role is £20,466.11 per annum.
