About the role:

As an Assistant Social Media Manager, you will join our newly formed in-house Social Media and Content team, supporting our Social Media Managers in the execution of Social Media first campaigns and plans, in the beauty space!

You’ll be a social media fanatic, who lives and breathes Instagram and TikTok. You’ll have your fingers on the pulse when it comes to trending moments, ready to take action and create content in the moment. You should know what it takes to create successful social media content and copy – and you’ll know the latest influencers and creators.

You’ll be heavily involved in ideation for social media content for beauty moments at Boots, therefore you’ll need to have a creative flair – but also knowledge of social media metrics, to report on success. You should be a people person with a positive, can-do attitude who is good at building and maintaining internal and external relationships – with a constant look out for smarter, faster and more efficient way of doing things.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Social Media Manager with daily tasks and admin, where needed
  • Support the Social and Content Manager in the ideation and delivery brand campaign content i.e. summer, Christmas and Love Island
  • Support with giving the Social and Content Assistant tasks and clear direction
  • Project managing social media content projects, including there’s a strong and seamless strategy, ideation, execution and delivery.
  • Helping to bring to life the brand voice with smart, social-first copy
  • Self-filming social content, and using video editing software to edit into a best practice asset
  • Using Canva to create social content
  • Through social listening, identify relevant conversations and be proactive with ideation and creation of content to ensure we’re relevant and quick to react
  • Support the Influencer Manager identifying relevant influencers and creators that we could partner with content
  • Ownership of the social media calendars, ensuring these are presented to the Social Media Managers, and there’s a smooth process to handing over to the Social & Content assistant for scheduling
  • Supporting the Marketing Manager with curation of Social Media reports.
  • Communicating social media platform updates to the rest of the team, and being proactive with recommendations on how we can be first to the party
  • Sprinklr will be your best friend – you’ll fully integrate yourself into our Social Media tool, Sprinklr to support with social listening, scheduling, reporting.
  • Sometimes work outside of typical office hours where needed.
  • Sometimes travel to shoots or events for content capture purposes, which could involve long days or overnight stays.

What you’ll need to have:

  • A real passion and obsession for social media, content and influencer marketing, and a real want to learn and develop in this area.
  • 1-2 years in a Social Media specific role and an interest in the health and wellness space.
  • A positive can-do attitude, and the confidence to present to stakeholders in the business.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends, platforms and best practice – and how our different customers will use channels and consume content differently.
  • A customer first mindset with the natural ability to create and identify meaningful conversations and connect with different audiences.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
  • The ability to flex your working hours, should you need to travel to events or shoots.
  • Experience of Photoshop/graphic design is desired.
  • Experience of editing social content and video editing is desired.
  • Highly organised.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment, juggling multiple projects at once.
  • An interest in the influencer/creator landscape.
