Line manager: Shop Manager – Lugley Street, Newport

Accountable to: Head of Retail Business Development

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, to be worked in accordance with agreed rota to include weekends, bank holidays and possible evenings as required

Salary: £21,372.00 per annum

About the Role:

You will be responsible for supporting the designated Shop Manager in the day-to-day management of all activities with the Lugley Street Shop.

Working alongside the Assistant Shop Managers at Kissy Puppy and under the guidance of the designated Shop Manager the post holder will ensure high customer service standards are upheld and will assist in the recruitment, training, and management of shop volunteers on a daily basis.

Your duties will range from receiving donations of goods from our customers, recruiting, managing and motivating volunteers, as well as making sure the shop is welcoming and inviting. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that donated goods are prepared and sorted ready for future sale. This role will involve a significant amount of manual handling, for which specific training will be provided to you.

You will be required to deputise for the designated Shop Manager at Lugley Street during periods of absences, holiday, and training.

You will be energetic and motivated with the ability to inspire others and ensure excellent retail standards and customer service is maintained throughout our outlets. You will also need to ensure that our retail operation delivers enhanced brand awareness and increased community engagement across the Isle of Wight.

As you may be required to work from any of our retail outlets, it is desirable that you have a full current driving licence and use of a vehicle for business purposes as public transport to some of shops is limited.
