The award winning Halston aparthotel development in Carlisle is seeking an assistant manager to join our talented team at Penny Blue who will continue to drive the high food standards and customer service forward. The role is very hands on and requires someone who is passionate and pro-active. Penny Blue and Bartons Yard are independently operated by The Halston and offer a stylish and contemporary café bar and a restaurant. Open six days a week serving lunch, afternoon tea and evening menu with a creative seasonal food menu using only the best local ingredients. Additionally a vibrant bar area serving cocktails and an extensive wine, beer and spirit menu.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Restaurant Manager or experienced supervisor to take their career to the next level.

The role

  • As Restaurant Assistant Manager you will be working closely with the Manager to ensure premium service delivery at all times, across our 110-cover restaurant, café bar and private dining space.
  • We require you to be hands on driving the team, taking control and take pride in the customer service of the hotel at all times.
  • The successful Restaurant Assistant Manager will be responsible for assist ing in leading a team of up to 25 staff; coaching and training, recruitment, retention and development.
  • Administration tasks and data management include restaurant P&L, staff rota and cash handing. This includes stock control and finance reporting.

Applicant requirements:

  • Applicant must be eligible to work full time in the UK and:
  • Have an enthusiastic, warm and inspirational attitude
  • Possess good communication skills and excellent attention to details
  • Have experience of more than 1 year in a similar role and operation
  • Immaculately presented, client facing and service – focused, with a sense of urgency
  • Commit to flexible work pattern undertaking evening shifts as well as weekend work
