Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Projects

WB Power Services are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work in our Heanor, Head office. This is a superb opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the business through this rapid period of growth. The business is looking for a driven, passionate and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to guide the team through these exciting times.

The Role

  • Calculating quantities and costs of materials.
  • Working with the projects department to ensure projects are risk managed.
  • Assist from the first estimate through to finalisation.
  • Make certain that costs are controlled and processed and adhered to.
  • Supporting the QS daily.
  • Preparing cash flow projections.
  • Resolve any issues that may arise reactively and proactively.
  • Writing reports.
  • Minimising risk and ensuring adherence to all site & WBPS Health & Safety rules.
  • Attend client meetings.

The Person

  • Experience as a trainee QS.
  • Previous experience in a mechanical setting would be desirable but is not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experienced and competent with IT systems and a willingness to learn our own ERP.
  • High level of mathematical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a growing business.
  • A good understanding of Surveying and Estimating.
  • The capability to deal with a variety of customers from different industries.

Salary: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year

Education:

  • Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)

Experience:

  • surveying: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
