Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail Division based from our Normanton (Leeds) office - and there has never been a better time to join!
The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Story Contracting you will develop the QS role and to understand how to optimise margin on a project whilst protecting from commercial risk.
Key Responsibilities;
- Input into the application and credit control processes
- Understanding of income forecast and pricing of variations
- Input into the change control system
- Understanding of project risk
- Input into the production of CVR.
- Understanding of CTC
- Input into providing forecasting data
- Understanding the costing process
- Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation
- Understanding of dispute resolution

The Ideal Candidate:
- Recent Graduate with HND / Level 4 apprentice or degree with limited experience or sub HND with substantial experience or other equivalent
- Commercially aware
- IT skills: Word, Excel, COINS
- Knowledge of methods of measurement
- PTS/LUL
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret construction industry conditions of contract
