The roles We are looking for two Public Health Assistant Strategists on a 12-month contract to work in these cross-cutting roles which will provide wide opportunities for developing a public health career. One role is in the Children and Young People Team supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people. The other role is in the Healthy Lives Team and focuses on mental health and wellbeing of adults and the wider determinants of health. You will have the opportunity to work with residents and a wide range of internal and external partners to support the development and implementation of strategy and interventions, which contribute to improvements in the overall health, and wellbeing of people within Camden. You will work on supporting procurement and contract management of services, to ensure delivery of NHS healthcare and local authority commissioned services ensuring they are high quality, evidence-based and demonstrate value for money. You will also have the opportunity to manage surveys, evaluations and analyse data to inform needs, develop strategies and actions plans across a wide spectrum of public health priorities. This role will enable you to widen your reach and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and contribute significantly to projects and programmes of work, ensuring they are informed by a clear evidence base, gradually taking on increasing responsibility and leadership roles. About you The ideal candidates will have relevant experience and/or training in public health or equivalent, such as a suitable postgraduate qualification in public health. Ideally you will have proven experience of using project management skills and have knowledge of public health methodologies to support the development and implementation of policies, programmes, services and strategies. You will be able to build an excellent rapport and relationship with residents and people using services and have the ability to work with a range of partners, using public health intelligence and negotiation skills to support the development of evidence-based and locally appropriate innovative ways of working. Working with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences will mean you have a high standard of communication, along with a high standard of report writing which will be demonstrated with your ability to write and contribute to reports of varying length and complexity.
