Job description
This new post will provide support to two service areas: the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre (LSCIC) for 3 days per week and the Pain Management / Rehabilitation service for 2 days per week. There may in addition be opportunities to observe other services on the Stanmore site.
Key colleagues may include Clinical, Health and Counselling Psychologists, trainees and volunteers. Joint working is a regular feature of the work carried out. Teams include Consultants in Rehabilitation, in Liaison Psychiatry and in Neuro-Urology, as well as Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and other professionals.
We aim to offer a supportive environment, with good supervision and development opportunities. The post-holder will be required to work such hours as suit the service, and social distancing requirements. After a suitable period of induction and supervision, it may be appropriate to work some days from home.
The post holder will have clinical supervision from the Psychologists in the two service areas, who will also provide professional support and line management. There will be opportunities to contribute to the teaching and training of health care-professionals, developing innovative services in an acute trust setting.
