We currently have placement opportunities for suitably qualified enthusiastic individuals to join our multi-disciplinary team in providing an effective, comprehensive and specialised psychological service for young people with emotional, behavioural and mental health problems.

Oakfield has been a leading NHS service provider across the UK for over 13 years. Oakfield’s multi-disciplinary team within its community sector comprises of counselling psychologists, clinicians, specialist mental health nurses and clinical support workers.

What to expect?

Successful individuals will, under supervision, support in the delivery of assessment and therapeutic interventions to young people within our specialised community therapeutic placements. Individuals will also gain experience reviewing and updating care plans and behaviour / therapeutic plans with the supervision and support of the senior clinical team. There will also be experience and active involvement in multi-disciplinary team meetings, presenting structured cases to fellow clinical professionals and peers.

Oakfield also instil an ethos and environment of reflective learning and continued professional development. Each week, successful applicants will have allocated time to discuss in groups and with Oakfield's senior clinical team key learning points and receive focused clinical led training sessions regarding their professional role.

Day to Day Duties

  • provide therapeutic input to young people with background of complex childhood trauma and experiences
  • perform under supervision therapeutic activities and tasks assigned by the Clinical lead, relating specifically to each young person.
  • Design weekly progress reports for each young person for social worker teams
  • support young people in their day to day life and activities, helping them achieve greater emotional stability, resilience and independence.

Applicant Requirements

  • Degree within Psychology
  • DBS
  • Must be Manchester and surrounding area based
  • Driving license- manual
  • MUST have experience working with complex behavioural and/or learning difficulties, either within hospital/secure settings or equivalent
  • you must first complete core competencies before being eligible for the position

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £21,840.00-£26,208.00 per year
