Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of clinical psychologists, learning disability nurses and speech and language therapists who provide a community service for children and young people with learning disabilities and autistic young people and their families. Based within a larger Learning Disability and Autism service within CAMHS, the team provide innovative, person centred interventions for this group of young people and are involved in training, and consultation as well as direct clinical work.

The postholder will receive training in a group intervention called Riding the Rapids. This is a ten week intervention that helps parents and carers understand and support behaviour that indicates high levels of stress. This intervention has been developed within MFT and is now part of the Greater Manchester support offer for families of autistic young people, The postholder will help organise groups across the city and co-deliver. They will also be involved in individual casework under the supervision of a qualified psychologist and complete clinical audits for the team.
