Our Assessment & Therapy Service are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our nationwide team, supporting our children and young people across our fostering and residential services.
This is a home-based role where you will be working remotely to support clinicians in services across the country. However, some travel will be required to carry out assessments with children. All expenses for this would be covered.
Key Responsibilities
- To attend and minute ICMM meetings alongside the fostering or residential clinician.
- To draft ICMM reports within 2 weeks of the meeting.
- To be trained in and complete Story Stem Assessments for children identified through our assessment process.
- To co-facilitate 6-week online training groups when required alongside the clinician.
- To participate in the development and delivery of research projects and service evaluation.
- To ensure accurate recording and compliance of record keeping.
You will join our growing multidisciplinary team delivering Attachment and Trauma Informed Care (ATIC) across the whole of Five Rivers Child Care.

We are looking for someone who has the following:
- Experience of working directly with developmentally traumatised children (this could be through providing care, education, support work etc).
- A degree level qualification (BSc and/or MSc) that demonstrates psychological knowledge including an understanding of research methods.
- A willingness and commitment to develop and grow within the team.
To support you in your role the Assessment & Therapy Team will provide:
- Monthly supervision.
- Monthly reflective practice space.
- Monthly team meeting.
- Weekly space to meet with other Assistant Psychologists.
- In person team and service development days (3x per year over 2 days).
- CPD opportunities including training with the Anna Freud Centre in Story Stem Assessment Profile.
- Support to grow and develop professionally in line with your development plan.
