Job description
Two Band 4 Assistant Psychologist posts within the Luton and Bedfordshire region have become available. The first post is 0.8 wte and involves working within the Liaison and Diversion Service. The successful candidate for this post will be required to deliver psychological interventions to clients in various locations across the county, as part of their Community Sentence or Suspended Sentence Order. The second post is full time, and involves working for Bedford Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team. This post will involve working with clients with complex risks and mental-health needs and among other roles, will involve offering manualised interventions. Both posts will be under the supervision of a Principal Psychologist. In addition to clinical duties, both posts will involve assisting with clinical administration, audit, and data collection.
For both posts, we are looking for candidates who are reflective, adaptive, able to exercise appropriate levels of autonomy, and who are able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Successful applicants will also need to evidence the ability to engage positively with service-users and their families/carers, demonstrating empathy, sensitivity and an awareness of the possible challenges experienced by those in crisis, or going through the criminal justice system.
