This post is for a 12 month fixed term contract with the likelihood of becoming permanent and we would be looking for a start date of end July / start of August.
Our Tower Hamlets service is multi-disciplinary, that consist of a service manager, consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, health care assistants, recovery staff, volunteers, administrators and peer mentors, all focused on bringing the individuals using our services the best possible support & interventions.

Responsibilities:
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to be part of our multidisciplinary team, delivering comprehensive assessment and recovery focussed interventions to people who are directly or indirectly affected by drug and alcohol use.
Under the supervision of a senior HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, the post holder work to ensure that people who use our services receive high quality care that adheres to best practice guidelines.
Our model emphasises physical, psychological, and emotional safety and helps people to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment in their lives and in their communities.
About the role:
- Work under the supervision of the Clinical Psychologist to ensure that psychological perspectives are central to everyone’s thinking.
- Support the empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence around the needs of the people who access our services.
- Through consultancy, reflective practice, team formulation, training and clinical case management, the post holder will help the wider team create an innovative and effective trauma-informed service.
- To provide quality support for the delivery of an efficient, effective, comprehensive and specialist psychological service.
- To support service delivery in a way that reflects our whole-person approach.
- To contribute to multidisciplinary assessment and intervention for people who access services.
- To contribute to training and support programmes and initiatives for other staff within the team.
- To contribute to the assessment of health and social care needs as part of an integrated team where appropriate.
- To support in the preparation of reports for a variety of audiences as required.
About you:
- A qualification eligible for graduate basis for chartered membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society.
- Experience of work related to clinical psychology, e.g., Assistant Psychologist or Research Assistant with relevant clinical input or other relevant clinical work.
- Previous experience of working with complex trauma.
- Experience of data analysis and with database management.
- Experience of working with individuals and groups.

- Is self-aware, reflective, and invested in their personal development.

Salary: CGL points 21 to 25 (£25,106.61 to £27,974.42 plus £3,915.44 ILW) pro rata.
