An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Perinatal Community Mental Health Service (PCMHS) in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. The service is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team, including Psychiatry, Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Pharmacy, Midwifery, Health Visiting, Occupational Therapy and Nursery Nursing. The service provides assessment, care and treatment for pregnant and postnatal women with moderate to severe mental health problems and their infants and partners. We are a dynamic and passionate team with a reputation for innovation and high standards of care. Psychology is highly valued in the service and the new post holder will have opportunities to support the team with research, service development and to become involved in running group programs and providing direct psychological interventions on a 1:1 basis.
1. To assist with the psychology provision within the perinatal community mental health service in Cardiff & Vale University Hospital Board.
2. To assist in the provision of psychological therapy for people within the service.
3. To provide support to Clinical Psychology staff working with people within the service.
4. To deliver specific interventions under the management and supervision of the relevant Clinical / Counselling Psychologist; working independently with an agreed plan and following the framework of policies set out by the services involved.
