About the role:
We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join the team based in Sydney.
This role will support the Program Manager in developing and managing the Operational Readiness PMO for rail operations consultancy assignments with our clients and stakeholders. You will provide a high-level project management support including leading one or more PMO functions such as the project planning and risk management activities.
The role will be required to work with our clients and stakeholders to actively resolve and troubleshoot issues as they emerge. The successful candidate is required to be flexible in their approach and perform other ad-hoc duties from time to time.

What you will be involved in:
- Program reporting into the program executive and boards.
- Liaising with staff from each of the teams/functions to gather updates on key project activities.
- Lead scheduling meetings and workshops.
- Critical Path Management Develop and manage risk management framework, procedures, templates and tools.
- Timely and accurate recording of new, revised or closed project risks.
- Liaising with staff from each of the teams/functions to gather updates on key project risks
- Lead risk management meetings and workshops.
- Provide support to personnel on risk and issue management Building strong client. relationships across client assignments.
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential
- Minimum 3+ years experience within infrastructure, construction, or transport sectors.
- Knowledge of the project lifecycle and project management concepts.
- High level of attention to detail and organisation skills.
- Be professional in verbal communication and have experience dealing with clients and stakeholders directly, including the ability to engage senior stakeholders and work with SME's on technical detail.
- Ability to follow standards/procedures and ensure your activities are conducted in compliance with relevant administrative, financial, and corporate governance requirements.
- Ability to manage time effectively among competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Prior experience working in a major project/program PMO.
- Have experience working with multidiscipline teams to deliver key tasks.
- Demonstrated experience of working in a Consultancy / Client-facing environment.
